This past Sunday in Houston as a part of worship we sang these lyrics: (interesting aside – my home church in SC worshipped to this song on Sunday as well!)
When darkness veils His lovely face,
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.
His oath, His covenant, His blood
Support me in the whelming flood;
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.
There have been frustrations, tears, and even confusion over the events of the past two weeks. But when I take a few moments to reflect back, God reveals to me His faithfulness and His power without fail – EVERY SINGLE TIME.
“For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, Fear not, I am the one who helps you. I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.”
“I am the One who helps you, declares the LORD, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel…And you shall rejoice in the LORD, in the Holy One of Israel you shall glory….that they may see and know, may consider and understand together, that the hand of the LORD has done this!”
I simply love how you never let any road block stop you! You are phenomenal and I know you give God all the glory! Safe travels and know you are loved and admired for your faith and strength and beautiful example!
Kathy, thank you so much for your kindness and encouragement, and for journeying with me!
You are an inspiration to those of us who has the fear of that return cancer. Your faith and determination will win this battle. Thank you for sharing your journey and God’s hand in healing! Have a safe sister trip back home
Fear of a cancer recurrence is real. It’s a fear I have to take to the Lord daily…sometimes hourly. There are days I have to preach to myself His promises. I will be praying for you, Dale, as you struggle through these fears also. Thank you so much for reading along.
Such beautiful pointing of our eyes to God’s grace-filled power!! For your insightful encouragements to see and know God’s goodness in the face of adversity, hardship and disease, thank you, sweet Brooke! Pointing us to God’s glory!!
Thank YOU for so often pointing me to His beauty in the middle of the mess, Maria!
Thank you Brook for the good news of how God is working in your life to His Glory. I continue to pray for complete healing from breast cancer & you can be home with your family. I
I’m so grateful for your prayers, Jo! I can’t wait to be back home…9 days!
Through the eyes of faith, you persevere! As you constantly testify to the fact that no matter where you go God is there! From the highest mountain top to the lowest valley God is there to guard you and guide you through these challenging times! When you walk on the narrowest slope the angels say “There passes by us a true woman of God!” They testify not to your glory but to the glory of God! So take heart, my fellow pilgrim, your journey each day takes you a few steps closer to your final destination, “the city whose builder and maker is God!”
I’m glad you were born to be the beloved child of God that you are!!
